The song of the sea

Today I am loving aqua and sea green

This sample came from my pebble sketchbook and is part of a fabric collage I made of a pebble beach scene with lovely sea colours
of aqua jewels and stormy blues mixed together

monoprinted papers with machine stitched distressed sheers
Sometimes the sea really is this blue

can I hear the song of the sea?
Things I love Thursday

aqua, sea green, seaside, shells, vintage bathing belles,
textiles, yarns, stitching, fine art, sea glass and birdie houses

... to go to the artists work ...

1. Beach girl 2. Green 3. The truest elixir 4. Revival 5. The Eye 6. Colours
7. Circles in modelling paste - page from my Caithness and Orkney book
8. P1000394 9. ACEO : Seashore 28 10. Buttoned slate
11. Wookey Hole cave 12. Inspired - rockpool 13. Little house big woods

Still loving playing with textures and layers
I used textures from dj pettitt and playingwithbrushes

never mind the song of the sea ...
... if she put her finger in her ear
she could pick up Radio 1

I'm posting much later in the day than I had hoped
but it is still Thursday ... just!

Happy Thursday
Carolyn

Ooh Carolyn - what fabulous blues! I love the way you do your photo montages with matching colours. I spent some time in your Flickr album the other day and was blown away... Love the bathing belle listening to Radio 1 and your gorgeous watery collage. Just great.

I love the song of the sea, maybe she was ahead of her time and was imagining a mobile phone!!!

you're such a lucky-ducky to live by the sea and it clearly inspires your wonderful art - and the photo made me giggle!
