new paintings on linen

just a few days now ...
to finish off work and get everything ready for the group show

"St. Ives in Textiles"

we are hanging the show on Friday 16th September
and have a small private view late afternoon on Friday

I have filled a sketchbook with samples relating to the St. Ives theme
and have been developing my own textured work on linen
with a view to adding stitch for additional texture and mark making

I've been working on all this throughout the year
through illness, busy family times and building work at home
and now the time has come to bring it all together to view

I realise I haven't shared much of my thought process here over the past few months
but once the show is up and running or, indeed, over
I will have more time to share some of the work
and some photos from the exhibition

thank you always for visiting me here ♥

Fabulous work. We are coming down to St Ives on the 20th. Will come in to see you on the 21st. I'll bring my fabric book of the sea to show you, as a few pages were inspired by you. Look forward to meeting you next week.

These are lovely - so colourful and happy! Is it these that you're going to stitch into or something else? The textures are incredible - is the linen gessoed? Sorry - too many questions when you're obviously very busy. I wish you all the best for the exhibition and just wish I could get all the way down there to see it and meet you.

Hi, I hope next year, if I only know the days of your show, I will be able to come and see your beautiful works! It's not that far from Poland to Cornwall :)
